Fingerprints

This week we found out where we are on the waiting list, as it is not near as bad as we thought! So that is a cool thing!
We also have our fingerprint appointment for our I-171H, so we are excited for that too. Every day that fact that we will be parents is more and more real to us, and we are so excited, even though we still have a long wait....

Waiting...

Its been about a week and a half since we turned in the dossier, and obviously nothing has happened! Nothing can happen for another month or so, or at least until the I -171H comes through. All you veteran adopters know what I am talking about.
So until next time.....

Also, we have begun talking to other adoptive parents of Ethiopian children, about the basic stuff such as skin care and all that. We have also begun to rethink the whole name thing. We have already decided that we would give them AMerican first names and Ethiopian middle name, but we are discovering that many people are keeping their African names.  So we will think some more, and make a final decision after we have a referral! We would appreciate any thoughts and suggestions...

Now we wait...

After some last minute drama getting the home study accepted by the Ethiopia program, we turned in the dossier and the dossier money today. According to our agency, as soon as those things are in the office, we are on the waiting list. So we are very excited about that.
Our next step is to wait for our finger print appointment, which should be in about 2 weeks! I will keep you updated.

Update

We have all the paperwork we need, and are just waiting till Tuesday! They are making us turn in the dossier the day AFTER our second anniversary, but its only another day!

We are already tired of waiting, and the process has barely just begun. But it seems as though Ethiopian children are popping up all over the place, which is good. We saw a sibling group in Target the other day, and Renee broke out in tears. We can not wait to be a Mom and Dad!
